Loose Balls
SNR balls are essentially intended to equip bearings. However, they are suitable for many other applications.
Steel balls are used in most cases. They are available in a large diversity of diameters (metric or imperial dimensions) and hardness values. They are classified according to their tolerance (i.e. their dimension and shape precision).
SNR also proposes balls made from other materials such as brass or stainless steel. Please contact us for more details. |

Tightening sleeves Tightening/fitting sleeves are used in order to fit taper bore bearings onto shafts featuring large diametrical tolerance, (H 9 max), thereby avoiding bearing journal grinding. Standard taper is 1/12 for all bearings and sleeves, except for Series 240 and 241 (1/30 taper).
Sleeves are delivered complete with tightening nut and lockwasher, and in compliance with ISO 113/1 Standard.
Sleeve tightening is a critical operation. Refer to the instructions for correct fitting.

Extraction Sleeves Extraction sleeves ensure a dual function: fitting and adjusting play for taper ball bearings on shafts presenting a shroud our shoulder and a precision-machined bearing journal.
The extraction sleeve is used in heavy assemblies with bearing handling and adjustment difficulties. Removal requires a nut (sold separately) to be screwed onto the sleeve, and abutting against the face of the bearing. Standard taper is 1/12 for all bearings and sleeves except for Series 240 and 241 (1/30 taper).

Hydraulic Sleeves Hydraulic sleeves are used for snug fitting of cylindrical bore bearings onto shafts featuring large diametrical tolerances.
To further facilitate tightening and extraction of large size bearings, SNR has developed a large range of hydraulic sleeves.
Their distribution channels and slots allow pressurised oil injection between bearing and sleeve, and between sleeve and shaft. This method is harmless to the mating surfaces. It considerably optimises fitting/extraction times and consequently reduces facility downtimes.

Tightening nuts Tightening nuts (ISO 2982 Standard) are used for axial attachment of cylindrical bore and tapered bore bearings and for putting out extraction sleeves.
When used in axial attachment mode, they are mounted with the corresponding lockwasher, therefore making up a simple, low cost and low footprint-tightening device.

Precision nuts Precision nuts are recommended for fitting high precision or standard angular contact ball bearings, and for fitting taper roller bearings and combined needle bearings.
Precision nuts are self-locking. Their threads and flat mating face are machined from one single attachment item, which permits high squareness precision (0.005 mm tolerance).
They are used in order to:
- Preload bearing sets and ensure preload value hold.
- Maintain the precision level of high precision bearings.
- Reliably and durably secure, the position of the set of bearings, even non-preloaded, and more particularly in case of high axial loading in operation.

Lockwashers The lockwasher (ISO 2982 Standard) provides positive locking of the tightening nut on the shaft. It requires a machined slot on the shaft. The large number of tongues in the lockwasher allows the nut to be secured in its accurate adjustment position.
