This is the most basic and most widely used type of tapered roller bearing. It consists of two main separable parts: the inner race assembly and the outer race. It is typically mounted in opposing pairs on a shaft.

Design Attributes:
- Single cone and cup.
- One-piece pressed steel cage retains rollers on the cone and spaces them evenly.
