Shaftless Screw Conveyors
following the CEMA Standard

SSC-type Shaftless Screw Conveyors represent a new idea in bulk material handling. The material is conveyed safely, with contained odor or mess, by heavy duty screw flighting without a center pipe or internal hanger bearings.  The shaftless flighting simply slides on a special wear-resistant trough lining thereby eliminating product entanglement around a center shaft or jamming the product against an internal hanger assembly.  The following features make the WAM "SSC" Shaftless Screw Conveyor the ideal solution for all those applications where DIFFICULT materials have to be handled without being damaged.  The WAM "SSC" Shaftless Screw Conveyor can be incorporated as a single `stand alone` unit or integrated into a highly complex system.
 

Micro-Feed Screws
SPL-Type
 
The SPL-type screw by WAM is the ideal micro-feed aid. During feeding, some material falls through an opening in the tubular housing of the main screw feeder filling the trough of the Micro-Feed Screw. Since the feeder pipe of the Micro-Feed Screw runs into the outlet spout of the main Screw Feeder, to begin with, there is material flow through both the main Screw Feeder, as well as through the Micro-Feed Screw. A few seconds before reaching the set feed rate the main screw feeder is stopped by a proximity switch to allow the small screw to feed the missing quantity of material with extreme accuracy into the weigh hopper.
