Steel sheet self-aligning bearing units 
 
SNR steel sheet bearing units are base plate-type bearings, in use in tension slides, connecting rod big ends, cartridge bearings.

These bearing units can compensate misalignments to the order of 5 to 6° for applications under low or moderate loading.

Sheet metal bearing units are delivered ready for mounting. Bearing inserts are life-lubricated and delivered with their bearing housing.

Stainless steel self-aligning bearing units 
 
Stainless steel bearing units are used in the case of high corrosion resistance requirements.

In applications with damaging operating conditions, such as high humidity or direct contact with aggressive environments, conventional grey iron self-aligning bearings are no longer suitable to meet, or to fully meet the requirements.
 
For these particular cases, SNR proposes an extensive standard programme of stainless steel self-aligning bearings.

These items also comply with the USDA H1 standard dictated by pharmaceutical and agrifood industries: high purity of the lubricant constituents, as all SNR stainless steel self-aligning bearings are exclusively filled with a compliant
grease.

Thermoplastic self-aligning bearing units 
 
SNR thermoplastic self-aligning bearing units and stainless steel bearing-inserts are notably used in the pharmaceutical and agricultural industries, imposing severe health requirements and high corrosion resistance standards for the materials used.

Therefore, all our thermoplastic bearing units are lubricated with USDA H1-approved greases. This standard involves the strictest hygiene and grease raw material purity.

These white colour PBT bearing units feature a smooth surface preventing dust, moisture or bacteria retention.
For lubrication, SNR has developed an odourless, tasteless grease, harmless to food products. Our bearings provide excellent resistance to chemical agents (acids, bases, organic solvents...) and high temperatures.

Insert bearings for self-aligning bearing units 
 
The internal structure of bearing-inserts is largely similar to that of standard ball bearings of Series 6200 and 6300.However, they feature wider inner rings to facilitate fitment onto the shaft, or taper bore rings permitting the use of tightening sleeve.

All bearing-inserts are sealed on both sides and can be supplied with cylindrical or spherical outer rings.

Our insert bearings are delivered ready for mounting and are life-lubricated, with suitable grease. No complementary element is required for normal operating conditions.
 
SNR insert bearings outer and inner rings and balls are made of hardened 100Cr6 bearing steel (or stainless steel if need be).

Standard cast iron or steel sheet insert bearings are delivered with 2-piece riveted steel sheet cages. Stainless steel and thermoplastic insert bearings are fitted with stainless steel cages. The seals are made of nitrile rubber or steel sheet. These bearings can be fitted with blanking caps or not.

Plummer blocks 
 
Split plummer blocks are designed according to a process providing high flexibility in the choice of the bearing. Practically each housing can adapt to two different shaft diameters by simply replacing the sealing.

They are interchangeable with other bearings of the same type in accordance with the ISO 113-2 Standard.

SNR plummer blocks are H7 machined (no risk of outer ring deformation, easy bearing sliding without risk of outer ring rotation) and the grooves are machined to a high standard, avoiding any rotation or deformation of the associated seals.

They are designed to be used with spherical ball bearings of Series 1200K, 1300K, 2200K, 2300K, or spherical roller bearings of Series 21000K, 22000K, 23000K mounted onto the shaft via a taper tightening sleeve.

The seals used are of U or VR type:

• The U seal is in two identical parts, made of acrylic nitrile with steel reinforcement which provides high resistance to hydrocarbons. Its machining precision (matching groove precision) ensures excellent hold and its 2-part design allows easy installation and replacement.
• VR seals are used more and more in standard sealing process for bearings. They protect the bearing against dust, water splashes, impurities and can be effective as grease valves.
